I am writing to let you know that I am having issues with wordpress.. I am trying to work it out, so I apologize that it is taking a long time to post..

Miss Casino

I get that sometimes it is an accident that you hit the change button. You know.. If you hit it again.. It will turn off! Interesting idea. I hate when I come up to a change light and there is a stupid looking person with their arm sprawled out on the machine. I ask “would you like change?” they look at me as if I just spoke pig latin and I repeat myself. Then I hit the button, and let them know that anytime they hit that button… I need to come down here and make sure it wasn’t an accident. Some people get it, some people think its funny to run my ass around, and some people didn’t hear my speech and continue to keep accidentally hitting the change button. Then, I will stand behind them like an angry mom with my arms crossed waiting for them to dare touch the button again…. I will break fingers…

I hate my depatment so much sometimes. I only really hate that they will say they will do things honestly and then 2 or 3 people get special privledges.. Don’t lie to us! If you are going to be unfair- then just be unfair and leave the lying out! Recently our department decided to change everybodys schedule. We have been not hiring to see how far they can push us with the few employees we have left. Well over time the shifts have been so off balance that they needed to revamp the schedules. Out of 103 cashiers I was number 82. I have been in the department for well over 2 years. The main problem with the schedule was that there was a chance I would be pushed to graveyard.

The way they did it was fair enough, they started with #1 and went number by number until they were done. The only problem was that some people on day shift would get pushed to swing shift (my shift). Well here is where the favoritism started.. One of the cashiers refused to work graveyard and couldn’t go to swing because her boyfriend was a swing supervisor.. So even though she was supposed to pick after me (she somehow is on days now..) The next issue I had was another cashier (who was like 14 numbers after me..) she was considered graveyard but switched with someone so she could work days without actually losing her place.. When it came time to pick, she got to pick in the place of the person she was switching with.. Meaning instead of being last on the list- she got to pick like in the 30’s.. Thats real fair. I just don’t see how the managers wouldn’t think that any of us cashiers would not figure it out. When they do something like turn our lives upside down- we are going to be a little defensive when people that don’t deserve it get special treatment..

There is this other one too- A cashier that was formerly a supervisor.. When she stepped down they let her keep her seniority and I lost out of the friday saturday off schedule. Everyone else would lose their seniority.. not her.. And magically again when it was time to redo the schedules, she got to keep seniority and has weekends off still. I think it is crap that because you are cool with the managers, that you get special treatment and special days that people wait years to reach seniority to achieve!! Bitches..

As I am minding my own tonight and walking my section I get this black woman that comes up to me.. Here is my story:

Her: (hands me a ticket for $15) “Gimmie da onez”

Me: “You would like $15 in ones?” ( I am only asking to make sure I understood the ebonics correctly)

Her: ::Grunt:: (She literally ripped the money out of my hand. I didn’t even get to count and hand it to her. She was in some kind of hurry.. I guess a penny machine opened..)

Me: ::Chuckle::

… about an hour later

Her: (Gives me a ticket for $25) ” I want dem in bys (fives..)

Me: ::Counting::

Her: ” I tol you I wan dem onez!!!”

ME: “No, you said you wan dem bys.. I know the difference between bys and onez”

Her: “Gib me da munneh! I wan play” (she didn’t wait for me to fully count her money as she tried to rip the money from my hands.. I was a little wiser to this so as she grabbed I made sure half of the money fell on the ground. Oh well- I am not going to help you. Go eat some chicken wings bitch!)

I really hate people that can’t speak english and that are impatient. When you learn english.. maybe they can teach you some basic math so you can figure out the difference between fives and ones..

I would like to thank Ribeyebecause I didn’t know the guests’ name so I went to Ribeyes site and used one of the “ghetto names” listed there.. She sure seemed like a Tyowanna.. ::giggle::

So tonight, I was just coming back from my break and in our office we have a large cupboard. I went to put my book into the bottom and as I bent down, I grabbed what I thought was the bottom cupboard door but was really the top one and pulled real hard.. ::BAM!!:: I hit my head SOOO hard that I fell backwards onto the ground. At first I was laughing because I was embarrassed, but about 4 seconds later I started crying because the pain switched on. My supervisor helped me up to a chair and unfortunately- any medicals have to be seen by the casino emts. So as I am crying the emt guys and 4 security officers came in and asked my story, took pictures of everything, and asked how I was. They gave me some ice and then had me sign some paperwork. It is really embarrassing because besides my manager, supervisor, and director being there… the security officers all know me, as well as the casino manager that peeked in to chuckle at me and say ” Only you.. I swear”. I have worked at the casino long enough that I know everyone and they all sure got a kick out of this. We have this sign somebody posted on that cupboard (posted below) and another supervisor told me that the sign was only a joke.. ha ha. jerk!

After the reports were done and I was free to go back on the floor one of my friends Stephanie (the security supervisor) came to me and said, ” I saw the surveillance video, it was freakin awesome! So funny!!” I asked her if it looked like I hit my head hard and she said yeah, and that I was on the floor for a while.. I wish I could get a copy of that.. It was very typical of me. I am the cashier that is always injured in some way and sometimes I don’t know what I am going to do with myself. Maybe I will wrap myself in bubble wrap..

I know that all money is absolutly dirtier than anything else– but sometimes when you see people being extra dirty and they give you the money– it really makes you queasy. Here are my super dirty money examples…

The Vault-  Why do “large” women insist on keeping their money in their bras?? I have had so many women stick their arm down their shirt and search their under boob for their cash. You know- purses were known to have existed as far back as Egyptian hieroglyphics. I don’t care how much you don’t feel like carrying around a small purse, did you ever stop to think that I don’t appreciate touching something that just accumulated 4 hours of breast sweat? What if you are lactating.. ew. How can anybody think that it is acceptable to do this?? I hope you catch some really itchy smelly skin rash because you insist on keeping the money in your personal vault.

Fuzzy Coins- I have always been a believer that if you are cashing in your nickels and pennys with me then you need to give up and go home. I really hate when you get some ass that jams his hand in his pocket and grabs all the shit he can and then hands it to you demanding dollars… I will make a point to give them back their fuzz, hair, and trash. I know all money is dirty but when their is curly hair in it… please- I don’t want your pubes.

Handling money while eating- This grosses me out the most. I get a lot of guests eating on the casino floor and licking their fingers, touching the bet buttons, getting ranch and spit on their tickets or cash… I wish I could get my hands on those blue light germ thing, I would go up to guests and congratulate them with spreading their disease. I don’t know if I could actually stomach knowing how nasty the place really is because when I go on break I wash my hands at least 3 times and the shit that comes off… I think beside chicken wings, my least favorite thing that guest eat while gambling are chips. Cheetos, doritos, well really anything that will make you want to lick your fingers.. because hello- you lick your fingers, touch the machine, or hand me money.. why would I want to put myself in direct contact with your mouth? For all I know you just make 30 dollars suckin off some guy because you lost all your money already..

Long story short. Wash your hands, use a purse or wallet, and check the handful of coins you are going to give me to make sure it is clear of your crabs… Fuckers 

“I had this guy come up to me, we will call him Mo (as in Moron). Mo immediately started in on how our casino is gouging him because the lack of penny machines we have. We had a pretty good argument for about 5 minutes, Here goes…

Mo:Those machines over there, the ones in nickels– why aren’t they in pennys like _____ casino and _____ casino?

Me:Even though some other casinos may offer that machine in pennys, we have chosen to offer it exclusively in nickels. If you are looking for pennys- he have plenty.

Mo:” at ________ Casino they have these in pennys and there is always a line 3 deep of people waiting to play!”

Me:“isn’t it great that our machines have available seats?”

Me: “I highly doubt we are losing money over a few penny machines. Our casino knows very well what we are doing. We are industry leaders with some of our slots. Casino X and Y cannot compare to some of our technology! It is really exciting actually to be working here!”

Mo: “Oh you mean those stupid machines that are pennys on weekdays to only change on weekends to nickels? That crap is ridiculous. Why am I going to come up here to play and lose money. I want to play pennys!”

Me: ” I am sorry that you can’t understand the excitement of the technology. We really are ahead of X casino and Y casino. If you feel that we are unable to accommodate you and your $40 limit then maybe the older style might be better off. This casino won’t be swaying your way anytime soon because we have worked very hard and are doing very well off with the path we have chosen.”

Mo: “I am just saying- if you put more pennys here you would have more guests and make more money”

Me: ” I am just saying that we chose the path to not accommodate to only the penny player. We are looking to appeal to the type of players that are looking to play nickel and quarter machines. We aren’t like X and Y casino, we are what they would like to be…”

Mo: “Whatever- I guess I won’t be spending my money here”

I really just wanted to tell this guy that his cheap ass needs to just stay home, maybe buy a nintendo and play for free. I really hate when people complain that we don’t have more penny machines. It just means that they don’t have the financial means to be playing at a casino in the first place. I just wanted to tell him that we are not the casino for him. Why even come up here if you know that we don’t have what you want? Just empty your wallet at the door and leave asshole!

Dear “I didn’t mean to yell at you, lady”-

I am SOOOO sure you didn’t mean to you stupid bitch! I think it is ridiculous that you will even use that line! Yes you did, unless you had something stuck in your throat and therefor you misjudges your tone.. You meant to yell at me! You tell me, ” I have been waiting for change FOREVER!!” well considering forever isn’t over yet- then you should still be waiting for change. Why do you insist on lying? I have the resources to look and see exactly how long you were waiting.. 2 minutes and 58 seconds. Yes, it is a little bit of time to wait, but forever? Fuck you. How about you take 2 more seconds and look around, see all those people? They are equally as unimportant as you. They need my help too. Get over yourself you stupid beast. I want to punch you in the tit and then tell you “I didn’t mean to hit you in the tit”. But I don’t lie. I fucking meant it, and I meant it to hurt really fucking bad… so bad that I hope I cause a big fat lump that forever will malform your chest. Don’t ever yell at me. EVER! I want to see how long your hemorrhoid ass is going to have to wait for change now… I have all night to ignore you.. Good job treating me with any respect..Just because your smelly middle eastern husband treats you like shit doesn’t give you any right to treat me that way. How about you strap an IUD to yourself and go to hell already.

The girl that wants to punch you in the tit on “accident”

Dino is in his middle twenties. Dino is one of those cashiers that are favored by the men supervisors and floor people (because he gets them free golf, but Dino is too stupid to see that its the only reason they like him). I will do a bullet list of why I really hate Dino.

• He thinks he is the best cashier the casino and when confronted about his lack of help.. he freaked!
• He will try to get every jackpot even though we split jackpots… There have been occasions that I have seen him literally RUN across the floor to get a jackpot. It is completely unnecessary because he should be sharing that responsibility with the other cashiers.. He has tried to tell me that without him I wouldn’t have made any money (because he had money from jackpots) I told him that if he did anything besides stalk jackpots he could have helped with change lights.. I also threw in that I could have probably gotten more from the guests.. ; )
• He makes things up so he sounds “cooler, smarter, whatever and more”
• He never listens to his radio (unless he hears “jackpot”)
• He always forgets to card the machines so we have to follow his ass around and do it.
• He still needs to bring me back the dvd I lent him! He keeps “forgetting”

I have problems with him every single day I work with him. I cannot wait to get off his team. I am so tired of doing all his work and it’s not like I can tell him to work because he will cry like a bitch! My dear Boyfriend and him have been friends for a long time. They are golfing buddies and Dino is always trying to “one up him”. Dino won’t play golf with my guy and other coworkers because my guy will give him good competition. They are way better than your average player and Dino couldn’t handle the ego damage that would come of my guy showing him up in front of people he knew. I (yes I realize I am being childish but I don’t care) told my guy that he can’t play golf with Dino and can’t talk to him anymore.. I know. I know. I HATE HIM THAT MUCH!!!! Keep updated with this site and I am sure Dino will come up again…

The very bitter cashier

I want to know… What is it about me putting lotion on my hands that EVERYBODY needs change right then!!! I could be hiding behind curtains.. (I’ve done it too) trying to moisturize.. (the money takes any natural moisture away…) and somebody will interrupt me and demand change. Why can’t they seriously wait? I have even stood next to other cashiers or change booths and “applied” to have guests need change right then and there. I wish I had an open/close sign… FYI. Let me put my damn lotion on my hands then I will give you your money that you are going to lose anyways.. fucktard

It was a pretty busy night tonight– I actually have a million things I would love to blog about… but I think 6 blogs in one night is a little extreme. I will try to spread it out a little bit, you know I may actually have a good day with no complains (If only..).

I was walking through my section tonight and I found a shoe. Very random.. Cinderella? Where are you? Fuckin tweakers. How do you lose a shoe?! I hope she stubbed her fat feet on something!  So.. if for some reason, you were at a casino tonight and lost your shoe… go to security- that’s where I left it..

I ran into the 15k guy. He hasn’t gambled away more than 5 of it. He did take my advice and buy something nice for himself.. ( he bought really ugly boots… but whatever floats his boat). He was trying to get another room to stay the night. Such a loser. In time he will be… mark my words.

I had this mexican woman come up to me as I was trying to get to a jackpot and she gives me a 50 and wants 10’s. So I gave what I though were 5 tens and she walked away and so did I. She comes back with 2 10’s and 3 5’s and tells me I gave her the wrong money. You know- I will very rarely say they are wrong.. accidents do happen and just because we make a mistake, it doesn’t mean we are trying to steal from you. I tell her that I need to call my supervisor because right or wrong- they need to know. She was pissed and kept repeating.. I give her wrong money, she want her money.. blah blah (Istopped listening). This woman was so mad at me and the bitch of coarse doesn’t speak more than 3 words in english couldn’t understand that we were trying to help and figure this out. I ended up being counted down and yes, I did accidentally short her.

So later on I walk by the same lady and she is telling another cashier how I was trying to steal money from her.. but she caught me. I was so mad that I wanted to kick her so hard in her vag that she could never have any more fucking kids. How dare she!! If I wanted to steal her fucking money- I would have taken it before my supervisor counted me down. And stealing 15 dollars? Please bitch! I’d go big or go home. How do you explain to somebody that doesn’t understand shit that she needs to stop talking shit or  i’m gonna call the fucking INS and get her ass sent back to mexico. I really wanted to strangle her. I know- don’t let them get to you.. but fuck you too! I will let it get to me. I am over it now, but every time she walked by me I would say that she better walk faster or I might try to pick pocket her..

P.S. ¿Cómo sobre usted vaya al infierno? (how about you go to hell!)

I had a couple of issues when I first walked into work and remember the post I did on co-workers about drive bys? Well after having a couple supervisors got mad at me because there were change lights all over the place (hello it is mothers day! The 2nd busiest day in the casino, what do you expect?)… I had a list written on my hand of machines I needed to get to and then the supervisor stops me and demands I help this guest way over there.. He was just such a prick, so then I decided that I was going to stop running around for them if they are going to treat me that way. I then stopped carding all machines and just slowly walked around my section. This is so opposite of me by the way. But it was funnier than hell to hear the supervisors calling and calling red diamonds in my section and to see the other supervisors running around carding everything as I was just slowly movin. So just for future reference… Don’t piss me off because unfortunately I hold grudges pretty well. It was fun watching the supervisors freak.. I might do this more often for a little humor.

I don’t care who you fuckin are… if you need my assistance, say so. Don’t call me like a dog (going ch ch ch). Ever! You want to know why I am irritated? Fuck You! You need to check your attitude at the door. I don’t know where the hell you come off treating me with such disrespect. Is it because I am in a uniform, so you think you own me? Bitch have I got news for you… Besides the fact that you are losing your probably 10 kids’ college fund on the quarter slots or wait… maybe you are losing rent money because I doubt that you can even afford that. For everyone that is lost.. here is my conversation I had with this woman.

Me: (I was just walking around my section.. I did not hear her “supposed” calls and as I am walking she very loudly calls me in the universal Mexican call… she goes “CH CH CH CH” I keep walking. No way am I going to allow that. She continues and I turn on a dime and give her my best look of death. What do you want!? i ask

Chilanga: “I need chane”

Me: Wordlessly I grab the money and ask “How do you want it?”

Chilanga: “Uh, all de cinco”

Me: I give her the money and I am mad so obviously I am not smiling.

Chilanga: “what you got headache?”

Me: “No, I don’t appreciate being summoned like a dog”

Chilanga: ” I tried calling you but you no answer” She then started telling the guest she is with (she doesn’t know I know him) that I was walking away and I did not want to give him change, i don’t care blah  blah..

Me: I told her that I did not hear her over the machines. If you need to call me for change, speak to me and not away from me. I was not walking away from you on purpose- I didn’t know you needed change. I don’t not want to help your friend. I know him- I don’t want to help you!

Then I walked away. I really didn’t care anymore. I had a bad start to my work day and I didn’t need or deserve her. I washed my hands of her. I don’t normally snap like this.. Oh well.

More so than normal. I was in a decent section, I had a chance to make some money– but it had to be the day before Mothers day… Mothers Day = guests that never gamble (therefor never tip), Need you to teach them to gamble, and are very very impatient. The restaurants are normally off the hook and then people get all pissed off because it took 4+ hours in the buffet line (we have a GREAT buffet in the casino).. What do you think? Its a holiday where men take their moms/ wives out because they can’t cook themselves. I am sorry- I would never wait in a line that long.

I had a woman insist that I need to teach her how to gamble on a nickle machine. For some reason, I don’t like to do this. Maybe because they won’t normally win– and they get bitter… Well she wanted to know where her money was… I asked her how much she put in (a dollar), I asked if she took anything out (no), She goes.. Look! I won, where is my money… (I asked “did you press the spin button?” She said no, then I had to tell her that she cannot win unless she bets… (*Honestly!*). Finally I said Good Luck and RAN AWAY!!! I think that if you cannot grasp the concept of needing to bet money to win money- Shit- go back to the buffet! I usually recommend people like this to the wheel of fortune (they are really simple machines to use).

I had a great deal of Hispanic people in the casino tonight… It was sorta funny because 3/4 of them wouldn’t speak English (fun right?) One of my coworkers who is sorta a racist bitch had a guest come up to her and this was their conversation..

Racist Bitch: “How would you like your change?” (it was $100 bill)

Hispanic Guest:” Uh, all de bentes”

RB: ” I will give you 5 twenty’s okay?”

HG: ” Oh, you understand me”

RB:” Well, in this country you should speak english!” (she then huffed and walked away)

Although I think she was rude in doing this but even if your first language is spanish– if you know enough english to tell us what you want… why wouldn’t you? I heard the guy talking to his wife and he seemed a little pissed at the cashier.. I would be too- at least he didn’t complain about her…

I had a problem with one of my supervisors today also- He is a prick bastard! He was delaying all of our breaks because he wanted more than 2 people in the section (besides the fact that all of us in the section are some of the best and efficient cashiers…) I asked when I could go on break and he told me he would get someone from another section (we are so short that he would be taking someone out of their section to leave them short only to not be short in our section.. makes sense? no!) I told him that he wasn’t thinking clearly and he got mad and told me to not start with him and then I fiercly snapped back “Oh I already started!!” I then told him to forget about my break… If he was having such problems with covering breaks then screw it.. In the end- 20 minutes after our “conversation” he sent me on break with ::GASP:: only 2 people to cover me! What peice of crap… Why keep pushing your plan when it is obviosly wrong and you end up doing what I wanted in the first place? Uh!! Stupid fucker- he just started a war with me.. Hehe

There was a lot more bad today, but I think this post is long enough. Goodnight!

I really hate beggars. I will always report them to security. Tonight we had a guest hit 20k and then a bunch of people will congratulate them and try to stick around as long as possible hoping to get some money from the winner thinking that they will share the wealth..

This ghetto ass black chick was trying to be all over one the guys (there were 2 guys). She wouldn’t let up even after I stood next to the guys.. I know the 2 guys pretty well and I also know the girl.. unfortunately. Normally you can send off “poachers” just by standing next to the guest but sometimes you have to call security. With these 2 guys I knew they didn’t care that much about it and wouldn’t want a big ordeal… For me it was just the principal of the matter… If you don’t have enough money of your own to lose… GO HOME!!! I also had a bad run in with the lady.. (She shoved me to get my attention because someone “over there” needed change. She doesn’t remember me.. but I always remember)

It came time to pay the guests and I presented them with 10k in a check and 10k in cash (how they requested it)… The guest gave me $100 and the floor person $100 and then wished the floor a happy mothers day.. As we were wrapping it up the ghetto bitch goes “Where’s mine? I’ma momma! I got four kids!” The guys ignored her (classic!!) and I just stared at her and she got the point. I walked the guests to the door (and she tried to follow). They said goodbye to her and then to me and left. I am sure now that everytime the boys come in that she will be looking for them. She is there at least 4x a week.. and plays the same stupid penny machines. if she really wanted to… One of the guys I’m sure would “pay for somethin” but beyond that… Good luck getting money outta them bitch! It took me a long time for them to tip me and I am one of 6 people that they will ever tip. And anyways- they are 98% of the time in the hole big time… I just wish I were more able to discourage these “beggars”. They look at me and smile.. I look back (no smile). They get it.. I’m on to you fucker!

I apologize if I have written about this before but it just really makes me want to start kicking people in their baby makers…

I had a guy tonight come up to me and give me a ticket for $100. Here is my reenactment..

Me: “How would you like your change?”

Him: “I don’t care, twenty’s I guess”

Me: “Okay” (:: Counting money ::) “Good Luck” (::I start to walk away::)

Him: “No, wait! Lemme count it.”

Me: “I just counted it out for you sir, would you like me to do a take 2?”

Him: (::finishes counting money and hands me a twenty::) “Gimme 2 $10’s”

Me: (::I give him 2 $10’s and try to walk away::)

Him: “Wait” (::he gives me a $10::) “Gimme 2 $5’s”

Me: (::Cursing on the inside::) “Here you go”

Him: (::gives me a five::) “Gimme $1’s”

Me:” Anything else sir?”

Him: “No” 

Surprise, surprise… no tip.. It is that hard to come up to me and say, “Hello beautiful (j/k), may I have this broken down to singles?” Or “Hi, can I get 4- $20’s,1- $10, 1 -$5, 5 -1’s?” I mean… COME ON douche nozzle!!! Give me a fucking break! I have a lot of people to help and if you don’t know what you want… just sit back down and use your fingers to fucking count! Why do you have to make it so difficult?

I remember bitching to my mom about this a year or so back and she told me that she always gets her change like the fucktard I was talking about earlier… I couldn’t believe it.. I then had to teach her the correct way to properly use her words for the benefit of everybody. At least I know my mom tips the cashiers… I mean I don’t expect a tip if you are just changing cash around, but if you change a ticket or coupon.. share .. Please??

I also had a guy today with a $70 ticket come up and want change. He said he wanted 8 $5’s and 3 $10’s. I mean, yes at least he knew what he wanted in one exchange– but just say, “3 tens and the rest fives”. That is so much easier because the way we hold our money…

Long story short- Don’t make my job harder than it has to be…

*Jane is a guest at the casino. She used to come in ALL the time but has slowed down a bit. She is old and grumpy but I would be too if I were a holocaust survivor.. I usually take her crap and do what she asks.. But sometimes her requests are just so ridiculous.

Jane used to come in to the 24 hour resturant we had in the casino when I worked in there and she would be accompanied by her VIP host. I got along with the hosts and they usually tipped enough to not ruin my night from her. She would always order 3 different entrees, all of which were not on the menu. It would take a lot of begging just to get the chefs to make half of her crap and then right when I would bring out her food she simply changed her mind and won’t eat any of it. “I didn’t order this crap! Take it back! I will eat in my room!”. I never saw her eat anything anytime she came in. She always ordered but also always sent it back..

Jane always gets a room on the casino level so she doesn’t have to walk far.. and someone always walks her to her room. I guess I understand but she doesn’t ask for anything, she DEMANDS it. They always bend to Janes way. I really don’t believe she has spent that much money to have the power to control us the was she does… I would understand if she is a legitimate high roller.. but she isn’t.

My favorite was when I was told that another casino employee ran into her at the local mall and said hi, Jane demanded that the employee (off shift- obviously) carry her bags and follow her around. He did…  I mean the stupid fuck that actually agreed to it deserved it if he is that spineless but… I just want to know, how do you get somebody to be your bitch?

Once- somebody in the guest relations department gave her a whistle to flag us cashiers down when she wanted change… It didn’t last long because the Casino manager wasn’t having it but (::Kicking air::) How is this allowed?? Who thought it would be a good idea to give the Bitch a fucking whistle? Am I her slave? She might as well patted my head and gave me a snosage (::good little change girl::) She completly makes everybody she is around feel inferior…

Jane is one of the few guests we will teach the new cashiers about.. We will give them a short do’s and don’ts to make sure they don’t get their ear chewed off.. Because Jane isn’t afraid to tell you how much of a stupid person you are.. here are a couple Jane do’s and don’ts

Do

1. Keep one eye on her change light because once it goes on you have 30 seconds before she starts yelling.
2. Watch her machine if she asks even though she will be gone for 20 minutes everytime.
3. Keep your conversations with her short… she doesn’t care about you.

Don’t

1. Ever ask her to wait.. she will cuss at you the whole time she waits.
2. Joke with her… just don’t.
3. Expect a good tip on her jackpots…
4. Look her in the eyes…

I mean- you probably don’t think she sounds that bad but she is. It is one of those.. “Ah Fuck, Jane is here– i’m going to go hide” kind of things. You can’t win with her. Her son– he is a typical 30 something still living with mommy… complete pain in the ass… And he can’t count ( I will add another post for him about this later). The ONLY good thing about Jane is that if there is another guest treating us badly she will yell at them for us. Funny huh? I guess she feels like it is her job and her job only to ruin our evenings… She will call people out on not tipping us at least the coins, she is worth having around just for that reason. So that’s is for Jane- god bless her but somebody please find her a new hobby!

I say that phrase probably 100-350 times a night and you would think it is pretty self explanatory… I know you are in a hurry or don’t speak my language… but help me out a little. If you do not want my help, we have 4 change kiosks that will help you and you don’t even have to tip them..! wow huh?

For instance tonight, I had a guest give me a hundred dollar bill and this was our conversation…

Me: Hi, how are you? Change for a hundred? How would you like your change?

Him: *Shakes head yes*

Me: Yes, what Sir?

Him: *Shakes head yes again*

Me: Do you want $20’s, $10’s, $5’s, $1’s?

Him: *Shakes head yes*

Me: Yes what? I asked you 4 different things!

Him: I don’t care

Me: *I give them 5 $20’s*

Him: *stops me and says, no! I want $5’s and $10’s*

Me: Okay then I guess you do care… How many $5’s, how many $10’s? Do you want half and half?

Him: Yeah, I don’t care

Me: I give them their change in the dirtiest, messed up, and torn bills I can find.. ( If they would’ve just worked with me a little then I would’ve given them good, clean money) Good Luck Sir! Have a great night!

I am not even joking with this. I have at least 5 guests a night do this with me and sometimes I am in the mood to just be nice and then there is most of the time where I give them hell. Don’t expect me to give you good money after you wasted my time because you are stupid! If you don’t know what you want then get away from me!

Okay… Well it has been 3 days since that guy hit the 15k and he hasn’t left the casino yet. WHY!!! I talked to him yesterday and he was only down like 3k but today the dumb ass is down about 5. Why can’t people just take their winnings and go home and buy something purdy? I remember this one woman.. She hit a quarter machine for 10k and she was crying and said “I can now quit my second job at the factory…” Well needless to say– she was at the casino almost everyday after she won and eventually lost everything and so much more… If I won 10k… I wouldnt put a damn penny back! I would pay off some debt and get my shit together…

I keep warning 15k guy that he needs to go home and spend some of the money on something that will last longer than a spin on a stupid slot machine. I told him that I am not afraid to slap him in the head for being retarded and losing all that money he just won..

I have a happy story for today– There was this guy playing 1 dollar 5x pay machine… It is a 3 dollar max bet and this guy hit the maximum for 15 thousand dollars.. I was excited for him. He was screaming really loud and cussing a bunch- It was funny. I made sure to stand by him while he was screaming the bad words and turned my radio on so everybody heard his screams of “fuck yeah, holy shit, oh my fucking god.. etc“.

People think that we as casino employees want all the guests to lose their money and go home mad… I don’t understand why they would even think that is anything close to what we think about… Unless you are a stupid ass guest that is rude then I want you to win. It isn’t my money I am giving away and also if guests are winning then they might tip me verses if they are losing… Makes sense right? Oh well… I am happy to have paid a guest that is not a regular casino dweller.. It makes me feel good that the casino still pays out every once in a while…

Okay- This post has nothing to do with my fury with guests… Oh I still have plenty of rage reserved for guests but this post is aimed at my coworkers… On all of the machines in the casino there is a change/service button. If you press it- in about 20 seconds dispatch will call it out to our radio and then we will come over to you and give you change. It is a great idea and for the most part I like it a lot. When a change light has been sitting for too long, the supervisor in the office will remind us that there is a guest waiting. Some supervisors– to lower the guest service times will walk by and card the machine (this is how we get the change request off the “need help” list).. They won’t say anything to the guests, they just walk away from them when they need help… I feel that as a supervisor they should be setting a good example and should be trying to help guests. Why is it fair because you want lower times that you should make the guest wait more??! A lot of the time the guests don’t even need change! This brings me also to a floor person.. She will always walk by a machine with a service button on and say over the radio, ” I carded this but they need change”… And once I get over there to help the guest, they needed a reserve sign (this is done by the floor person), cigarettes, or food service.. I really appreciate your guys’ help and concern with the service lights but how hard is it to just take 2 seconds and ask the guest.. How may I help you? I am 110% sure the guest will not be upset because you asked them what service they are requesting. At the next available time, I am going to bring this up with my manager or higher with specific names because this is crap. DAILY this is happening… So aggravating when you are super busy and you see supervisors just walking around carding machines… how is that really helping the service? jackasses.. I hope I get you guys in trouble!! Muah ha ha

Am I really one of the few people.. that cares about guest service? Not all guests suck!

I want to know, when did it become OK for random people you don’t know to come up to you and touch you?

We frequently have a problem with guests that feel that it is OK to poke us in the arm/back/shoulder with either their money or just their stupid fingers… I can’t get behind why they poke us!!!! How can they feel comfortable invading my space? Today– I had this stupid Asian lady that while I was just finishing up helping somebody else just tag me hard in my back. I turned around and very sternly told her,” do not touch me. I do not know you, nor do I feel comfortable with you poking me. If you need something– use your voice”. She was very irritated at me. I then asked her how she would like her change.. I wasn’t mad anymore- I felt I got my point across to her. But oh no! 20 minutes later, a big ole thump on my back. Bitch was back! I turned back really fast and more aggressively told her, ” I have already mentioned to you that I do not appreciate you touching me. Don’t touch me!!” I then looked at her husband and told him to help her keep her hands to herself. If she has a problem then there is a change booth that is caged so they she can’t reach the cashiers.

Long story short- please keep your hands to yourself. We carry an extremly large amount of money on our self and it looks shady if you are coming too close to me and my money. I have no problem calling my supervisor and/or security to help get the point across.

On a daily basis I normally run into the same tweakers. They are the ones that are always at the casino wearing the same clothes, hanging around the same people, and trying to win their next high. I have seen some pretty messed up people in my time here and have heard some nasty stories of overdoses and prostitution. Why does a casino bring in this type of people…? As long as they don’t bug me I am normally fine with them– but they cross my line when they give me .79 cents and demand I give them a dollar. This is when I normally fuck with them just because…but a usual scenario is this…
Crackhead Bob: Gimme a dollah
Me: (counting the mess of hot sweaty small change noticing it doesn’t equal a dollar) Do you have .21 cents?
Crackhead Bob: (after turning out his pockets) No, Cant you just gimme a dollah?
Me: Not without .21 cents. (yes i am sorta laughing– on the inside though, I mean I am a professional)
Crackhead Bob: Its only 21 cents. You have the money. Just gimme a dollah- nobody is gonna know
Me: Well, I will know because I will have to pay for that. How is that fair that you should demand that I give you money that I have been working for?!! I am sorry (handing them their coins back) When you get some more change I will be happy to give you a “dollah“.
Crackhead Bob: That is bullshit! You cant just give me a dollah? You are stupid, mean, blah blah blah…
Me: I will be more than happy to call my supervisor and have them explain why it is unnecessary for you to be asking me to give you money from my own pocket so you may have a dollar. I will also be more than happy to call security over and then they can all decide what should come of this..
Crackhead Bob: NO! WHATEVER! FUCK YOU! BITCH… Blah Blah

I know it isn’t a big deal for me to give them a fucking quarter so they can have their stupid dollar and lose it on a penny machine. It is completely the principal. WHY would you ever demand I give you money..? I work for tips asslicker!! UGH! Sometimes….

Yes, the majority of employees you will come across in a casino get their main income from tips. Any tipping position in a casino makes minimum wage.. yes that is not very much which is why tips are important even though it never probably crossed your mind to toss us a couple bucks. In our casino the dealers pool their tips together and get it on their paycheck. Floor cashiers like myself keep what they make off tickets and change but on jackpots we will normally split it with the other cashiers in our section. I say normally because we have the few that think that they deserve more than everyone else because they are so entitled so they steal… So majority of us will not split with them which causes a whole lot more of a mess (a whole nother post). I read somewhere that tipping casino employees is best if done in a percent… So for cashiers they recommended 2-3%. … So if you cash 100$ then throw us a couple bucks.. I think that if it is higher than $100 than stick to the % rule but if it is less than 100 then just either give them a dollar or so and the change.

My tipping gripes…

• People that never tip no matter what. I understand you don’t have to but when you actually think about… that is how we survive. Unless I gave you a reason not to tip me… come on. You wouldn’t not tip a waitress just because.. I make the same as they do. So next time toss me the extra change, it may not seem like much to you but every little bit will help me fill my gas tank.
• People with no manners. I am nice to you and make sure i give you exactly what change you want… Can you say please? Or thank you? This one just really bugs me when people don’t tip. If you don’t want to or aren’t able to tip I get it and its okay. I don’t get mad that you don’t tip me. Honestly people don’t tip very often and that is a part of my job i have had to come to terms with. But just be nice to me, please?
• People that say keep the change… when there is no change. I get this sometimes where you will get a $300 ticket and they say give me twenty’s.. So i count out their money and they say keep the change.. I respond “Oh, there is no change” Then they say oh well sorry..
• When people say,” I will get you next time”. 1% of the time do they really ever follow up on that. If you don’t want to tip me, don’t. But don’t lie to me because that is only going to make me really mad at you and work on my retaliation.
• When people say,” I would tip you but I have already lost X amount of dollars..” Don’t taunt me. If you aren’t winning.. I’m not going to be mad that you didn’t tip me… as long as you are nice. The fun part is that whatever the X amount is.. they are always lying. It is funny how we get these people that expect me to believe they lost $1000 in the last 15 minutes playing dollar blazing 7s. It isn’t possible.. You silly person; if you are going to lie about this then give me a story that is believable.
• People that are super cheap with their tips, especially on jackpots. If you just won 10K, how is tipping the friendly cashier that helped you with whatever you asked for so hard? I think that 10k jackpots are commonly stiffs. Share the wealth- many people think it is lucky to do so. I mean hell you gave the random person next to you 60 bucks just for sitting next to them, but I get nothing even though i was there for you whenever you needed. Yeah that makes sense.

Dear Old Lady with the crazy spiked hair that just has to keep screaming at me until I help you, Hi- Fuck Off! Seriously!!! I am in the middle of counting, yes I hear you… I acknowleged you, can’t you just sit there and be a little patient? You aren’t even out of money yet so really you dont need me that bad. I hate you. Why is it so necessary that you feel the need to scream across the casino over and over and over again until I am right infront of you? Once I have said, “I will be right there…” couldnt you just stop there and figure that maybe ::Gasp:: I will be right there? One day I am going to stick my hand down your loud mouth and rip out your throat.. And then- Oh and then… you have the nerve to say, “Are you having a bad day? You look like you are having a bad day” No F-ing Shit lady.. I am busy doing my job giving great guest service to somebody else that was there first but NOOOO… You decide that it is your turn and that you needed me yesterday.. Sheesh! I am having such a freaking great day! I mean rainbows and unicorns great! So please.. just turn on your change light… I will be there as soon as I am finished with this last guest.. I promise. If you don’t like it- go to another casino or better yet DIE!

I understand that some people have mobility problems…I think they should have to have scooter insurance. We have too many occasions where a guest not paying attention has ran their scooter into something or someone. In our casino you may rent a scooter if you are staying in the hotel– if you need one then why don’t you already own one?? Why are you too lazy to walk through the casino that you need to rent one and knock stuff over? ::sigh::

The reason I bring up scooters today is because I had an incident. Lately I have been pushing around a change cart. They sort of resemble ice cream carts. Well I am just standing near some machines and this guy without paying any attention throws the scooter in reverse and before I knew it my very heavy cart was laying sideways on the ground. It was so loud and so embarrassing! The security ran over and helped make sure my money was secure and this guest… Just looks at me. Doesn’t say oops, no sorrys.. He just looks at me like how dare I get in his way. ::sigh again:: So luckily a few other coworkers helped me get the ridiculously heavy thing back upright and attempt to fix the pieces that came unhinged. The guy had the nerve to say to me that any money that fell on the ground should go to him because he put too much in the machines tonight… F**ker!! I really wanted to kick him out of his scooter.. My money inside the cart was all messed up and I ended up being off balance with my turn in. If he only would’ve looked!!

Hello and welcome to my blog about how I really feel about working in a casino… I will start you off with what a Phibe is…

I am currently a cashier, and frequently when I help an asian guest when they want to get change for a $20 or anything for that matter- if they want the change in fives… it isn’t said that way. They want Phibes. So on too regular of a basis you will have random asian guest wanting not fives.. but Phibes.. I am past caring now but sometimes you can’t help but mess with them a little bit… For instance tonight– I have random asian guest approach me with a $20. They say “phibe phibes” I say “how about four fives?” they say “phibe phibes” I say well I will only give you “phour phibes” they smile, shake their head yes while repeating “phibe phibes” and I give up and give them their four fives.. That is what I go through every 4th guest..
